I need expert advise

Paradise Palm company and Tyty Nursery both say that they ship large palms with the rootball covered in Terrasorb. I did some reasearch and found that Terrasorb is a product that retains water, and releases it into the soil when need be. Both websites say to water your newly planted palm every day to every other day. Is it possible that Terrasorb, along with watering every day to every other would cause root rot on a new palm? I'm considering windmill palms.
