You might find it easier and faster to start with cuttings, either rooted or unrooted. If you are trying to minimize shipping costs some of these can be sent in a bubble envelope, assuming the temperature is OK in transit. I do have a few things that I might be able to send (for postage), although none are hardy in your zone. If you are interested in any of those the question would be when and how to ship. I might have other types of vines and/or seeds. I'll look things over and contact you later today. Unfortunately a lot of the easily available Passiflora seeds are either not viable, or for varieties that are difficult to grow in most areas. Slow germination is typical, even for viable seeds.

Hi Christine! I have a TON of material for Passiflora edulis 'Fredericks' if you like. I also have a rare one called P. yucatanensis which is pretty easy to root (IMO), P. Actina, and some of the fruiting kinds (Yellow grenadilla, etc). I'd send you tons of cuttings for bulbs and kinda regualr looking stuff (dafodils, tuplis, crocus, what have you). I just sometimes get a yen for nice normal flowers like my gramma woulda had and I have a ton of cutting material for the fredereick especially. First off, you don't need to find Dip and Root (Dip and Grow?). I'm sure some people swear by powder or liquid (or nothing at all). You should find out what species/hybrid you are talking about. I'm not personally familiar with the one you describe--probably others are. Some of those that come up from the roots are difficult to root from stem cuttings. A general procedure for rooting most of them: Use a cutting of 2 or more nodes. Cut about 1/4 inch below the bottom node. Remove the bottom leaf and tendril. How many of the remaining leaves you take off is personal choice, but leave at least half a leaf (this is what I do unless it's a terminal cutting). Dip the very bottom end in rooting hormone (whichever you prefer). I dip only the very tip. Fill pot, or what I prefer--a clear plastic cup with holes in the bottom (you can see root formation)--with the appropriate medium (I prefer moist perlite). Push a hole into the perlite with a pen, a finger, whatever works. Insert the cutting into the hole and gently push the perlite around the stem. Put in a very high humidity environment. If I'm using a plastic cup I invert another on top as a dome (if the cutting fits). Put in a bright, but not sunny area. Bottom heat helps for many species and hybrids If after a month it hasn't rooted, try scarifying the callus (for example lightly cut with a razor blade), treat it with rooting hormone again and return it to its rooting area.
