Okiebaker I can't help you with the first part. Molasses water is water you mix some black strap molasses. Black Strap is unsulfured molasses. And is what is most often recommended. You can often times buy it at a feed mill or farm store. You can even use what you find at the grocery store but it will be higher. I usually add it about once a month during the growing season to the tomatoes and pepper plants. I will add around the other plants and band the rows of row crops at least twice a growing season. I like it. But would never say it is better than compost tea. I've seen internet wars over that argument and other similar topics. They can be used on an alternating basis or just one of them. Some even add molasses to the teas. A molasses drench is one of my favorites. I usually mix it up in 5 gallon plastic buckets. Pour one 16 oz cup around each tomato plant and a little less around the peppers. I try to mix one evening and apply the next. I will say both soil testing services I used this year recommended using molasses water at least twice a growing season. Amounts of molasses to add vary also. There are several different suggested rates. Most I've seen are 2-4 tablespoons per gallon. I usually use 4 and and have mixed a little stronger at times. I hope this helps. Jay
