Today's (Wed., 5-30) Risk Of Severe Weather

Okiedawn OK Zone 7

The risk of severe weather continues today for much of our region.

I've linked the SPC's Day 1 Convective Outlook below. You can see how much of the area is in a risk area.

If you click on the words Tornado, Wind or Hail on the menu bar at the top of the map, you get a graphic showing the chance of those events.

It looks like many of us should be keeping an eye on the weather today.

If it ever stops raining here, I'm going to run out to the garden and pick peppers, squash and any tomatoes that have broken color since yesterday, and will move as many of my container plants into a sheltered covered area as possible.

If you watch The Weather Channel and follow Dr. Forbes' use of the TorCon Index, parts of our area have an index number of 5 or 6 today.

While receiving rain is a huge relief for many parts of the state that have been too dry, it is unfortunate that the rain is accompanied by so many other forms of severe weather like hail, high wind and tornadoes.
