Fertilizer for potted rose babies

I'm hoping Kaye will see this and give me a tip on how to keep the baby roses growing strong and healthy. These were winter cuttings that I did in pots of professional potting soil mixed with about 1/3 coconut coir. They are just not taking off as fast as in the past when I stuck them directly into the garden....even though I had to dig and pot them in May.

I have been afraid to use the stronger chemical ferts on them, so used fish emulsion and alfalfa tea. I am pretty sure they are needing micronutrients...iron in particular. Can they take something like Miracle Grow..if so, what strength? I want that good dark green color like I see at nurseries, but don't want to burn tender new roots. These guys have been uncovered for 5 weeks and in full sun for 2.
