Anyone Planting Roses This Year?

Well, I am 4 weeks away from ordering about 15 yards (2 landscape truckloads) of aged mushroom compost, horse manure, and soil mixture to fill one of my new terrace areas. The terraces are built on a hill with 6" by 6" treated lumber. This one is about 5 feet tall on the lowest part of the hill and the area is about 18' by 11'. When filled, it will be nearly level on what was once a steep hill area. The terrace will fit about 6 bushes with a grass walking area in the middle. I will plant another 4 next to my main garden in the same general area.

The new roses are:

Firefighter, Stephen's Big Purple, Julia Child, and Amber Queen from Edmunds.

Aromatherapy, Bella'Roma, and Tahitian Sunset from Jackson & Perkins.

Jude the Obscure, Molineaux, and Ambridge from Chamblees.

The roses are scheduled to arrive in late March. In six weeks, I will be planting. This will give me a total of 43 roses so far.

Now, please don't snow in the beginning of March.
