I'd be doubtful that most of them would bloom. I've planted daffodils and tulips as late as end of January that still came up and bloomed that year, but I haven't tried planting them at the same time that they're supposed to be flowering, which is probably in another week or two for you. You might have a little glimmer of hope for the allium and Dutch iris, but I'd still guess they won't bloom. Do you have a friend who'd be grateful for them and can wait til next year for bloom if they need to? Maybe even a neighbor, so that on the slim chance they do bloom, you can still see them?

I used to be a RE agent--in my experience, it is best to specify on the flyer that this or that bulbs/plants are going with you, but you are leaving many/most of the rest. Take your treasures & leave the common stuff--most people can't tell the common from the rare anyway. Also,you can say you will be dividing clumps, if applicable--so you each get some. A lot of plants are better off divided every few years anyway. It is much easier to dig them when they are blooming, so do so. It's still your house until it closes. Just let the buyers know you what you will be taking--and that you will replace it with something similar, if you think it will matter to them. Gardeners will understand you right away, and non gardeners will understand about sentimental value ("I planted that bush when my daughter was born"), but will not care about which varieties are which. Just don't leave the yard full of holes. If you do make gaps, fill them in with annuals.

I had a problem with forcing my plants into dormancy this year, it was my first time to have them do so ever so it was a bit tricky. Of course everyone says to stop watering them at some point and leave the leaves to dry out... but that didn't work out for me. I did so in the beginig of August and on the 1st of September the leaves were still beautiful and green, i waited a bit more and still nothing happened. I have decided to do some research and many people suggested that i should cut half od the lenght of the leaves and they should then automaticaly dry out within 3 - 4 days and the bulb should begin dormancy. So it was, I actually think in my home environment the drying out period should be shorter and take up to 3 - 4 weeks maks and then forcing the dormancy by cutting the leaves - as I will know to do this next year. Right now I am trying to restart the bulbs and it is working pretty well. Though I am not happy as many of the gigantic bulbs I had at the begining of the year are now just the size of a golf ball.

I would love to have the opportunity to take pictures of Aphrodite again. I love that sparkle in the closeup. Glad you liked the photos too. The leaves are long and green, but are bent down right at the top of the bulb. There are about six leaves. I suppose the rotting began in the spring (it was fine up until I took it outdoors), and it just didn't have the strength to produce more leaves. I am wondering whether I should just let the leaves yellow, cut them and allow it to rest. I am hoping to get another amaryllis from a nearby garden center when they get them in. They are more expensive but the bulb is a good size and they had had some nice ones I thought. I was thinking of purchasing Charisma last year, but couldn't decide. Then it was gone.
