Have you ever considered sending your plants to MN for the summer? Our air is very clean, the rain is perfect, they would have lots of other plants to talk to and the experience of being exposed to a new and foreign culture (the Midwest) would do wonders for them. I would be happy to be their host. (good luck getting them back)

It would be hard for me to pick a favorite. Very nice looking plants indeed.

Sending the new one to summer with you would be quite ironic considering the fact that it just traveled from Minnesota to California.

The one secret thing I didn't show was my dozen or so flasklings that are too cute for words. less than an inch tall with 3-5 leaves apiece. Be nice to me Kev and I may consider sending one to live with you when it grows up.

Oh Mimi you're killin' me! First you get me with those random Cymbidium pics that you throw out saying "oh, I just have these out in the yard", and now this! *sniff, sniff*
Couldn't you show a ragged plant or two just to make me feel a little better about my collection... and my weather... most of all my weather... do you know it's 96 degrees here with a heat index of god knows what?... you're in CA... it makes sad noises deep down in my unhappy place with the green envy monster ridding shotgun on the highway to humid hell...

Poor Ethan.
I can make you feel better. Today was one of the few days the neos have been outside. They live inside. The cymbidium you envied. Fried to a crisp. My gorgeous masdies? I forgot to put up the shadecloth, fried. Found mealies on my pleiones today. My pretty orchids? It's all smoke and mirrors, lol!!

Seriously, this year I had to build a greenhouse because my sunroom became WAY to cramped and I had a scale breakout get way out of hand before I even knew it existed. That's what happens when your plants are packed waaayyy too close together. I feel your pain about the wee small beasties.
On the bright side, though, you have fabulous weather ALL the time! We have icky weather most all the year 'round.
... I still envy you your weather... and your Neos... they're beautiful! I want one!! *insert whiny Ethan pouty face*

I was actually thinking about you and all of your plants and your sunroom. I was lurking on the trade you are setting up and you mentioned what the total was now and I was thinking "boy, that's one packed sunroom!". Neos are small. You can always fit a neo in between other plants...be careful though. As you can see, they are addictive.

I actually got the Chousentetsu and the Setsuzan during the Cal orchid trip we took with the gang. While you were busy shopping, I managed to find the stash of "good" plants that the Roses didn't know they had. Mrs. Rose refused to sell me one of the stripey leaved ones and let me buy these two (they were going to the NY show and were hoarding special items to take to the show with them). I think they are one of the few businesses I have ever encountered who actually refuse to sell things. It must be the sign of a personal orchid collection that got too big. Watch out Ethan or else you'll be opening a nursery soon! lol!

They sure look happy and you're going to have one super collection when they all bloom! I love the variegated ones.

I know! That's why I've started in on the miniatures now. I've simply no more room for the big boys. I've even had to sell some of my big guys on eBay to make room even prior to getting the greenhouse open (after all, it's only going to be an 8' x 18' greenhouse, not an auditorium =). Still, surely there's room for a Neofinetia or two... or 3... or 4... I mean look at these guys! And now that you've told me WHERE to look... well, that's just enabled my addiction now hasn't it... so I have someone to blame!

Of course, you could trade away your Neos to me for some big honking plants of mine so that I have some room..............

Any neo is a good neo, but these -- I really love the sun on the leaves in those picks, and now I'm looking over my New World stock list and reaching for the jar of change . . .

Those are just little gems and really well grown and potted -- makes me want to go home and kiss my neo 'shutennyo'!

I used to have a greenhouse full of Neo's when we had a fire and all were lost.I am disabled and have not alot of funds to purchase the high dollar neo's that I have been able to locate.Can anyone please assist me in locating more reasonable priced Neo's so I can rebuild the collection I once had.
