Cotton-Arbo retum Photos; lots of yellow foliage

lisa, the next to last photo shows the yellow june foliage of a low growing taxus (yew) cultivar, whose name i do not have. behind the yew is clematis Niobe growing uo through a physocarpus diablo. another shot of that same yew is 2 photos before this one; in the background is the large heart shaped foliage of a catalpa aurea (which can be coppiced to keep it a low shrub rather than a large tree). In front of the catalpa is a berberis helmond's pillar.

In the 8th photo, the right foreground shows a very mature yellow berberis; the middle background has a robinia freesia which has exc yellow foliage but does not leaf out as early and does not hold its true yellow color as long as the acer negundo kelly's gold in the left background. (the freesia also does not have the striking silver grey stem color of kelly's gold in winter.)

in the front of the left border is brunnera gold bullion

(yellow foliage w cobalt blue flowers- yum!! ) next to some allium.

again, my sincere and great appreciation to sedum sue who put together this slide show!

best,

Mindy
