Hi Mindy, Yes, I do grow it year round as a houseplant. It was outside on a covered porch for the first summer, but it's been inside since. It sits in a south facing window that gets lots of light and no drafts from AC, etc. When I first brought it inside it was unhappy with me and punished me by dropping a lot of leaves. But I sheared it back lightly and it rebounded nicely. It's been inside for about 4 years now. I think I remember reading somwhere that it really likes to be sheared back periodically for the best display of the white/pink dappled leaves on new growth. I haven't been as faithful in doing that as I should and right now the leaves on mine are predominantly green. Hopefully this helps. Good luck bringing it inside. As I mentioned, it may sulk a bit but in the end should hopefully be fine. P.S Your gardens are beautiful! Dorothy

Thanks for sharing photos Mindy. I wish my N. CT garden even looked THAT good right about now. Other than the hellebore and lawn, about all that's still green are gaura, some tall phlox and a couple of coreopsis holdouts. Does your pennisetum 'Moudry' come through the winter where you are? I love that but so far only have 'Hameln' growing here. The feather reed grass is still looking good as are the butterfly bushes and one determined meadow sage. Saw the neighbor's cat chewing on the sage leaves yesterday. Tastes like catnip maybe?
