Trees, not good news for hosta growers.

Hosta under trees is not so easy according to this article in Fine Gardening.

http://www.taunton.com/finegardening/how-to/articles/planting-under-a-tree.aspx

Good info about various trees, and a surprise for me that oaks are sensitive to under planting. Another thing we should have known, trees grow from what decomposes under them. Cleaning up removes what the trees need next or in future years.

Another thing I get from this piece is plant small plants and I think the best idea is using large growing hosta that may survive to a reasonable size if not the giants we are looking for.

Or, As Ken says; cut the trees down! LOL
