New hydrangeas at Northeast nurseries, Peabody

Marie Tulin

I used one of my Northeast nurseries groupon for my new hydrangea habit. I bought the oakleaf "Pee Wee" and (macrophyllia?) "Lady in Red". I didn't see any of the lacecaps Katy just mentioned, and the 'nikko blue' blooms on old wood. Even though it is zone 5, I'm afraid in an open winter the buds not make it. Any one have experience with nikko blue?

They also have "Berlin" in the Cityline series. I've seen it in my friend's garden and it blooms intermittently.

They carry "Strawberry Vanilla" or is it the other way around?, Twist and Shout. NE Nurseries stock generally looks very very good. They don't grow their own, but it looks well taken care of. Come to think of there aren't a lot of nurseries in New England who grow their own stock.

Marie

Hope to get to Mahoney's and look at their stock.
