I spent the weekend planting everything I've purchased locally and whatever online orders dwindled in. Then, I forgot I placed a Bluestone order on Friday (thankyouverymuch). I don't know where I'm going to put them! Achillea mill Red Beauty (I always wanted this plant) Echinops Platinum Blue (Just looked to pretty to pass up) Ligularia desdemona (Beats me) Monarda Coral Reef (L-O-V-E monardas; as least I removed the Jacob Cline (which I have plenty of) from my cart!!!!) Phlox pan. Dodo H Forbes (Very pretty) Polemonium Apricot Delight (Very pretty) w/shipping, $48.80. Plus, I'm going to a local nursery, probably tomorrow, with a few coworkers. I won't be able to control/contain myself. When is the next meeting, LOL...

Ah, I miss Hicks. Anytime I wanted something not easily found at other nurseries, I went there first. Their plants were also so big and healthy. Too bad I don't live on Long Island anymore. But thanks for the heads-up. :-) ~Christopher

I went there a couple of days ago. They had a lot of trees and shrubs. Great, if you're looking for big stuff. Not so much in the perennial department, which is what I was looking for. I did pick up a nice looking Christmas fern, tho. I probably should have picked up a Buckeye, as they were pretty nice. My parents live very close (aka, in the sticks!), so I may have another shot to go before they close. Oh yeah, they also had a large selection of Japanese maples. Thanks for the headsup!

I was tempted to go in my lunch hour last week but thought that would be pushing it from Decatur! So we managed to get there today. It was our first visit and its a wonderful place, so sad that they are closing. My kids played in their sandbox with my husband while I looked around, what a treat! I bought a Ceanothus, thanks to David and Esh mentioning it (there is still one left!), Physocarpus Summer Wine, Caryopteris Bluebeard, Amelanchier Autumn Brilliance, Edgeworthia (paper bush), Kolkwitzia Dream Catcher, Rhamnus (buckthorn) Fine Line, and two Amsonia Hubrechtii, which I had been looking for all over town and was delighted to find. I agree, a wonderful selection, and very knowledgeable and friendly owners, such a shame they have to close. They still have a lot left -- tons of perennials, which I didn't have time to look at all of, but there were rows and rows of them, and lots of shrubs, including one more ceanothus! Thanks to Fay, my plants are all sitting outside having a good shower.
