alert:: great deal on Cannas!

I saw an ad in the Atwoods flyer for "2 for 1 Cannas". I didn't expect much, but want to start adding Cannas to my naturalized landscape and your recent chat on how hardy they were got me really excited about them. They had them loose in big "bins" with plastic bags. You sort through what you want, label your own bag and pack them up yourself. If you reach down in the bottom of the bin they are huge! Single Rhizomes the size of three to four of what you'd get pre-packaged. I can't remember the names, but they had a nice yellow, a red, a pale yellow with coral, a peach/coral, and a pale yellow with cream. They had other bins also, with other things. Their selection of veggies and small seedling flowers is growing rapidly too. They have Poblano and Anaheim peppers - which according to the lady next to me are hard to find...

Hmmm I will be digging out more at my "other" house next weekend. Mostly yellow.

They will be free, for anyone wanting some. Right now, they are in Tulsa, and if there are takers, I will bring some back with me to Edmond.

Otherwise they go to the curb with a free sign on them.

Iris is a pretty reliable rebloomer... I wish I had found this website when I was digging up the iris garden... I ended up throwing away over 100 iris... nobody wanted them... I had started with very few and ended up with very many... sometimes daffodils don't come back... they are not always as reliable as I would like... I'm hoping my gladiolus will come back, they are one of my favorites... and thank you for addressing the "freezing" thing... Oooo, Wanda! I'm so glad the cassia has taken off! Does it put out the yellow flowers at such a tender age? I hope so! We've really enjoyed ours-- it's constantly buzzing with bees. We're just about to move to a new house, so tell you what-- I'd LOVE a plumeria! Oakland has a coupon for 10 free tulips with no other purchase. I found it in the coupon magazine that came with our grocery fliers this week. Don't know if it was in everyones bag or not. Of course I bought some other bulbs while I was there. Didn't want to seem greedy.

Finally checked the pot luck thread, and I guess, if baby stays put, I will be there.

I will bring cannas and day lillies, and other stuff that I dig out next weekend in Tulsa.

I have already planted 48 from Atwoods and now you have made me ready to drive back to Vinita again!!!!! Shame on you!!! I am using cannas for a summertime block along the edge of our cove. We live in a very nice subdivision but there is a "Resort" park across from us and the lady directly across has 5 dogs that bark the whole time they can see me. Since I live in the yard this gets nerve racking. Anybody with lots of bamboo they want to get rid of?

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE POT LUCK!!!!!!!

Moni, thank you so much for the wonderful plants. Today I planted about 3/4 of the cannas, all the daisy's, and tomorrow I will finish the cannas and dutch iris.
