That's a wrap; Freak early snowstorm today

NYC got socked today with the earliest snowstorm since the Civil War, a real nor'easter storm. We are expecting a final tally of 6 inches or more. The precipitation began as hard rain, turning to snow in the late afternoon. While the big flakes were pouring down, I heard THUNDER several times! In Queens, it's turned back to rain and there is no accumulation in the streets, only a dusting of rooftops. Depressing thought: tomorrow morning, I will probably see only cold-blasted plants outside instead of those hanging on in our unusually warm autumn. Seems we went from late summer to winter in a single day today!
