Dutch Iris in PNW

Why don't I see many Dutch Iris in the Puget Sound area? Or have I just been missing them? Is there a problem here I should know about, because I'm thinking about buying some to plant this fall.

If you're not familiar with Dutch Iris, they grow from a small bulb, not the large tubers of Bearded Iris. I grew them in the San Francisco area where they're quite common. The only problem I had was at my last house where I had a vole/mole problem. Dutch Iris bulbs must be the snack of choice for these critters. The plants grew but just as they were getting ready to flower, the moles got them. I even saw some disappearing into the ground!
