Hosta Seed Growers Auction
Comments (11)Trudy, when they say "shipped in spring" --which spring? NEXT year? Before I bid on any more hosta I have to know when the shipping period will be, since I am still waiting on one I bid and won in February. True there are still places where it is cold on occasion, but for the most part, plants are well on their way, the temps in many parts of the country are as warm as in the deep south where I live, and I think they should be flexible to deal with changing circumstances. However, if those are the rules and they cannot be modified or moderated or exceptions considered, then I must pass on bidding. Except seeds. No problem with shipping seeds in a timely manner, is there?...See MoreHosta Seed Growers 2014 Seed Auction
Comments (14)Bk I am so new to this I got some seeds from a nice lady on this site (Joan), ebay and my new H. Frances Williams. I havent planted them all yet. I have viewed the old post from bernd, ken and others in this forum about Hostas and seed planting and I think I am going to be overwhelmed. Luckily I am going to get two t8 grow light fixtures and my cousin has built me a shelf from pallets to put them on. I love doing this. My first set of seeds from ebay didn't do anything so I set them outside. Now I have two grocery store plastic food containers with about 11 seedlings in them. Not nearly enough for what I want in my back yard (and give to my sisters) but they are coming along. This is just so much fun to watch them grow. Cant wait to show pictures of my back yard in the next year or two....See MoreHosta Library Auction
Comments (18)Bernd, If you go into settings on your iPad, go down to Safari and tap on it, there is a name and password auto fill option that if you turn on will hold your Library name and password. It will automatically fill that in for you and the next bid applicable bid will already filled by the Hosta Library software and all you have to do is hit enter to bid. I got some cool stuff last minute because all I had to do was hit enter. (just a tip) Smithhostas71, congrats on acquiring the Cranberry Wine x Ringtail seeds. That's a great cross. Nice cross by Jim. I did it a couple of years ago and really liked the results. I kept about a half a dozen and like them all. Dan...See MoreJim's Hostas and Seeds
