Groundcover Experiences and Suggestions

I am in need of suggestions for a good groundcover for between flagstones.

I planted corsican mint this spring, and I don't think I'm quite happy with it. For one, the stepables website is rather vague and says "may be evergreen in mild climates" under all of their selections. Gee, that's helpful. I'm thinking it wont be all that evergreen during a wet winter. So far, it starts spreading a lot and dying here and there. The brown spots always fill in, but I find them rather irritating and I'm not quite sure what is causing it. The slugs seem to like it as well, but I figure that is going to be the case for just about every dense groundcover out there. What are other peoples' experiences with corsican mint?

So what's the perfect groundcover for the Seattle area? I want something that wont mind me walking on it (I would say a moderate amount). My drainage is improving, but not perfect. The ground likes to stay on the wet side. Part shade. Oh, and evergreen. I'd really like something that hangs around during the winter as well.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!
