Beefsteak tomato ?

I haven't grown many beefsteak type tomatoes especially hybrids, but last year I saw one a friend of mine had grown and I was impressed. The reason I usually steer clear of them is in my experience they contain a very large core but as I said I don't have much experience in beefsteak varieties.

Her tomato was huge about 4" diameter and DID NOT HAVE A CORE! It was a pretty meaty tomato and it had seeds kind of evenly distributed. I ask her the variety, but she couldn't remember and wasn't sure where they had bought the plants - I ask if beefmaster sounded familiar and she said maybe or maybe something else with beef in the title(I know not much help)anyway she said their plants had been very productive and they were giving them away to neighbors to get rid of them.

So do any of you with beefsteak experience think you know what variety she might have grown?

Thanks,

Jill
