Ward, It only got about 16-18 inches tall ( think 18 inches is max height for this plant. It was grown from seed and started blooming in late June or early July I believe. It bloomed the rest of the summer right up until frost. I did eventually put two of them in the ground and overwintered one inside because I only had 3 and it wasn't supposed to be hardy here. They stayed green at the crown all winter here in the Buffalo/Niagara region buried under the snow. Right now the 2 that were planted in the ground are about 10-12 inches tall. The one I overwintered inside is now in the ground but not growing quite as fast. I think it is trying to establish itself first. Yes my hummers last summer were all over it. Penny

Jewelldday: Thank you so much - I'm so happy with the end result. The tile is from Ann Sacks Tile. On the floor is the white thassos w/ming green basketweave, ming green mini-bricks & white thassos on the perimeter. On the walls in the shower is white thassos 6 x 12 & a thassos & ming green mosaic liner called Agape. Another company I liked was Akdo Tile - they have lot's of great stone mosaics too. Goodluck and post some pictures when you can! Flyleft: My tile contractor was pleasant but not thrilled. He screwed up my subway tile backsplash in the kitchen and I think maybe he was feeling bad about that - not sure (posted a thread about that topic on the kitchen forum). It was a big relief when it was grouted and done:)

Your roof is not an 8:12 and has been framed differently than in the elevation. Look at where the ridge board for the hip roof terminates on the right and left in the elevation, then compare to where the ridge board terminates in the actual framing photo. The ridge board is MUCH shorter in the actual framing than it is the front elevation. (Ridge is supposed to terminate to the left of the single window and near the middle of the single garage door in the elevation drawing. Ridge board terminates just to the left of the front door and doesn't even make it to the single garage door in actuality.) The result: the hip slope on the left and right is much shallower than what was shown on the elevation.

It is so disappointing and frustrating to have had that frost damage! But even with the leaf damage nothing is going to stop this hosta from growing. Next year it will be back even better than it was. 24 pips? Wow. And the hosta on the bottom of the photo is? Do tell.
