Hi Judye,

Yes I can name all of them, I took pics of the name tags that went along with the plants. I cannot do it right now, hopefully tonight. Wish me luck, I have to get it done when I get home or it will not get done because I am going on vacation to Tennessee on Sunday for the week. Wish me luck!

Ok, Wendi, it's time to name the peonies!

I'm most curious about the one just above the pic of P.J.

The Countryman family said there's been a lot of interest in 'Bouquet Perfect'...so it will be propagated in the near future. Also one named 'Hot Chocolate' that's a dark brownish red, single style. Really cool looking!

Hey, the folks in the Peony Forum might be interested in these pix too.

Hi Everyone, especially my new GW friend Judye!

Judye is absolutely right, I have to name names. We took a little excursion to TN last week and we got back on Friday. As you can see by my post about Roosters I had a small problem with some that my friend/neighbor has and I was trying to help out. PJ and I went to Tennessee basically for the ribs, yes you read that correctly, ribs. We wanted to check out smokers and get some knowledge about them from the locals down there. Well when we came back, PJ HAD to have one, so we spent the entire weekend working on purchasing, setting up and learning to use a smoker. I will post pics of that later in the week but first I have to name the peonies. I do not have the digital card that those pictures are on here at work, they are at home nice and safe. When I get home I will feed the family (that entails PJ, my two dogs and various wild birds out in the yard), water all of my plants, help PJ finish his little Smoker patio (basically going to the local Home Improvement store and saying 'Yes dear, you can buy more bricks') and then I will post the names, this morning a woman that I work with came up to me and said "Hey, I thought you were going to post the name of those flowers Friday? What happened?!" I asked "what are you talking about?" "On GardenWeb, aren't you the one who posted those pictures two weeks ago? I would like to know the names of some of them so I can keep and eye out for them." I didn't know that she knew it was me. So I cannot hide behind my monitor because someone can really scold me in person about this. So be on the lookout tonight for my newest update.

I can only name a few of these. I took the camera on vacation and sure enough some of the pictures with the labels were deleted to make room for pictures of animals at the Nashville Zoo. I just want to cry.

19. And of course I do not know the name of this one because I am clueless, in my defense this is one of about thirty that I took pictures of that did not have a tag to name it. I took the pictures so that I possibly could find out what they were. There were a bunch without tags but the ratio of named plants to plants missing a name tag was about 375 to one. When I asked Chris about the Vivid Rose because I could not find one with a tag, he told me that it was in the front garden and he moved the tag from the field up to the front garden. When I asked him how do they remember what is where he told me that they have very detail maps/drawings of the fields and nothing is dug up or moved without it being first noted on the map/drawing.

Sorry everyone. :( I promise I will try harder next time.

So out of 19 pictures I could name 13 of them. I am sorry, I promise that I will not post any others without knowing the name if there is a tag in it.

Thanks for the identifying list. It really is helpful. I had written down 'Shawnee Chief' on my list and couldn't remember what it looked like. Falling in love with Myrtle Tischler all over again.

I've always gone for the bomb type of flower...but on this trip my attention was directed by my friend and by Chris to 'Gold Standard,' a Japanese type - white with gold center. It was really beautiful and striking. I thought I would balance it with 'La Pinja' which looks similar but is pink with a gold center (like the one in the pic above P.J.).

Those are the two I'll be ordering this year. Not at all what I planned when I got there! ;-D
