Southern Folks-How Did Your New Plants Do This Year?

As summer is winding down I would say that I had good success with my plants that I bought this spring. It was not exceptionally hot this year but it's still Texas. Almost every day after late June was mid to upper 90s but only about 15-20 days of over 100. I'm not as hardcore as most, I only bought 10 this spring, but they made it through the summer months pretty well. All but a couple I got from Hallson Gardens and all of those were from the Fragrant family. My Blue Angel had some very slight browning at the edges on a couple of leaves in late August and my Loyalist (bought locally) melted badly in the early summer until I got it into total shade. I was most impressed with Satisfaction, Fragrant Bouquet, Kiwi Full Monty and Fragrant Queen. I was the least impressed with Fried Bananas. It did OK but is just sort of there. Blue Angel is the only one which produced flowers. Here's hoping that they all come back next spring!
