Well, I don't know. I looked at both those roses on Help Me Find and I guess it could be. Maybe there was something about the way this GW member grew this rose or pruned it that gave it a little different look to it. And the color of the rose on the arbor seems a little coral to me, but that could just be the camera or the light. Thanks for the help. :-)

yeah - sorry. I need to get batteries for my better camera. I keep them in my garage under lights. No mice. Its the only one that has been affected thus far... Soon as I saw what had happened, I isolated (its now outside) it. It looks like the cotyledons were chewed off at the stalk, and then eaten. The stalk remains fine, and there are two little nubs where my cotyledons used to be. It wasn't stuck in its seed... It was one of the Filius Blue seedlings with a larger set of cotyledons. Also - you wouldn't know this not being from florida. But no one has basements here. We are too close to sea level... There are exceptionally few places where it would be possible, but no one really lives there (Howie-in-the-hills for instance, has about 300 households).

Hey Markiz37, your recipe is similar to mine. Altho I use liquid from Ivory bar soap kept in water in a plastic container, and liquid garlic. And my husband is now watching his colesterol, so he saves me all the egg yolks. I use about 5-6 of them now instead of 3 whole eggs. The beef bouillion is an interesting idea too. I've tried the netting. They still got in, and in fact they ran off with it the first time. One of the neighbor kids said he saw a buck with the netting all wrapped around his antlers and was dragging it all over with him. The next time, they jumped thru it and it went onto the road in the night and my neighbor drove over it and it wrapped around the axle of her car and I had to pay for her repairs! Never again!! The dog doesn't keep them out. But then, she doesn't always notice them when they sneak in the back yard. For me, the ONLY thing that works is my homemade concoction, similar to Markiz37's. I have to spray 2 gallons worth since I have over 1600 roses. The deer will not eat my roses if they are sprayed well enough. This last time, I went over two weeks without spraying and not one thing was eaten. But when I saw a young doe running up the road past our house the other day (in broad daylight no less) I decided it was time to spray again. Now, if I could just get the thrips to go away....

Well, I examined the plants just now with a flashlight and I see no signs of droppings. The one tomato became completely defoliated today during the DAY while I was at work, so I am guessing it is not hornworms. Either way, I put down something called "Repels All" granules and also dusted the remaining two seedlings with Safer Garden Dust (contains Dipel). So whatever is eating them, I hope they STOP! Plant #2 had started to get some munching but still has a few leaves, so I hope that one hangs on. What's weird is that nothing else has been browsed... save for the swiss chard in the back garden bed. Here's why that's weird. So many other yummy things to eat. Back bed has: spinach, lettuce, kale, radishes, and snap peas. But only the chard eaten. Front bed has: Brussels sprouts, parsley, basil, peppers, and marigolds. But only the tomatoes munched. Do you think my decimated, defoliated roman candle tomato plant has any chance of rebounding? I read a couple posts that said I could put a milk jug over it and it might resprout some new leaves. True? Or am I out $4?
