I am also severely tempted with your Violon d'Ingres, but I only want exceptional-fragranced roses and have no idea what its fragrance is like. I love your Violon d'Ingres...so even though it didn't make the cut in your final decision, I think of it as an outstanding Romantic Antique Rose because of both its beauty and uniqueness. Harold, LOL! as you can tell we are all having a hard time just putting up one! favorite rose photo. Harold in another thread you will have to update us on all your additions! I can't wait to see your Gemini. I have 2 more pretty, lovely Gemini photos in my lumpy garden thread. They're not as classically beautiful as in this thread and as in my 2nd and 3rd flushes, but they're still the prettiest of this 4th flush that I've got. Gemini has several new baby stems popping out and I can't wait to see the new baby leaves come out. They're looking really good and healthy! P.S. Harold, poor Jim! Be sure to check my email. These are the fixtures I've gotten from HD: GE Premium Fluorescent Light Fixture - only about $15, Direct Wire, Thinnest (1 1/4"), can NOT be linked, uses T5 bulbs, 18" long. BTW, I can't find any wiring or connector in the kit. Would I have to buy sth else? Xenon Premium 3 light fixture - about $49, Linkable, Plug-in connector, 2 light levels, 18" long. Considering the cost factor, the GE one is definitely better. I'm not sure if direct wiring or non-linkable would become problems when the electrician puts them in. I only need three sets so turning them on separately would be ok. Ngng, thanks very much for the pictures. I like the look and feel. I'm still surprised that fluorescent lighting can produce the warm color though, since my ceiling fluorescent is not that yellow at all. Is yours GE? I see the wiring in your picture goes on the outside of the cabinet. Looks like your rails hide the lights very well. I wonder if other electricians may drill a whole on the bottom of the cabinet and pull wiring inside. I forgot to take a look at the bottom of the new cabinets and see if the rails are tall enough to conceal the lights. Maybe that's the standard these days? If my cabinets are 33" wide, what length should I use for the undercabinet lights?

I disagree with Emily_mb. In my home growing up in the '60's, we had stainless wall ovens and cooktop. Stainless has been classic for the kitchen for decades, and isn't going anywhere. She didn't specify what "first signs" she is referring to, but you can open any Architectural Digest, which typically shows $100K kitchens, and find stainless appliances. You will also see panelled appliances there, but panelling appliances is more costly. You have not mentioned a budget, which it would be helpful to this thread if you did. Anyway, things that go "out" quickly, usually have also come "in" quickly, such as avocado green appliances, which burst on the scene in the '70's, and then were gone just as quickly. Having said that, I myself have white cabinets and a mix of stainless and white appliances in my kitchen. The combination is a little more "homey" than all stainless would be. I also have my dishwasher panelled, because that appliance is the most prone to water drips down the front.
