Please ID this yellow flower

It is growing in partial sun and spreading quickly by natural layering with fibrous roots coming from joints on the stems. Leaves are about 3 inches long by 1/2 to 1 inch wide with smooth edges. New leaves grow in the axis. Leaves are lighter green underneath. The stem is round and semi woody. It has bloomed most of the summer here in my Michigan garden. It mostly spreads on the ground but some of it stands semi upright about a foot. The soil is fairly dry although this plant is where I keep my hose and some water does leak from the faucet. I'm hoping you can view it here.

Perhaps a Grindelia. Are the flowers sticky?

Thank you I believe you've sent me in the right direction although the genus I have doesn't have the serrated leaves I looked at Grindelia squarrosa and Grindelia lanceolata and they both have toothed leaves where mine are smooth. Could it be that if grown in full sun the leaves would be serrated and the flowers sticky as a protection? Thank you for sending me the answer so quickly I have wondered for a couple of years now what it was. At least I have a start as to find the exact species.

Mostly a western genus this species is short lived perennial that is fairly common in the cedar glades in central Tennessee as well as other rocky areas including shoulders of roads throughout it's range.
Lore: The Navajo used plant tea to kill ants and there are records ot the plant being used to kill head lice. The sap has been used as glue and chewing gum.

Medical Uses: The very closely related Grindelia squarrosa is considered an antispasmodic, expectorant and a sedative.(Plants For A Future) Native Americans of the western U. S. made use of plants in this genus for a vast range of conditions from skin rashes to lung ailments. Just a few of the conditions it was used for are; cuts, skin diseases, coughs, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, colic or stomachaches, tuberculosis, gonorrhea and as an abortifacient.(Native American Ethnobotany Database) I know of no scientific testing to validate any of these uses.

It is yellow archangel, Lamiastrum galeobdolon. Unless the clumping cultivar 'Herman's Pride' (which I don't altogether trust), considered invasive in many areas, including here in the PNW.

It's a nutsedge, Cyperus species, and looks suspiciously like C. esculentus, aka yellow or flatleaf nutsedge, which is generally considered a weed in most places. A rather troublesome weed at that!!
