It has lots of common names around the world but Syzygium malaccense will id it specifically. Interestingly, probably the best known of the Syzygiums is S. aromaticum - the clove.

Pipsissewa is its common name around here (Georgia). My little scrap of it has silver variegation on the dark green leaves and gets a small white flower around now. The one pictured looks less variegated, if at all. I wonder if it might be C.umbellata which gets pink flowers?
