So If my plant is a lilac how long do you think it will take until it flowers and how long can i safely keep it in a container. I don't have anywhere to plant it. I live in an apartment building so i may be able to upgrade it's pot. C sabol

You have an alocasia. It looks a bit like Alocasia stingwray. If so, I did have this plant until I gave it to a friend who really really wanted one. But my experience with it was that it always lost a leaf when it gained a new one. So in my estimation, there is really nothing wrong with yours. I expect that in warmer season, perhaps one can retain more leaves as it gains new ones.

I think you may just have got it. If not, a very, very close relative. I will be back there in a couple of weeks, or so, to check things out. I'll post what it looks like then. Thank you.
