Such terrible anxiety!!

I've posted on the forum regarding my upcoming move to my new house, however I'm in a state of anxiety and would like some assurance from my garden web friends!

I live in zone 6, NJ and yesterday, I dug up almost all of my irises as I am moving to my new home this Thursday. For the majority of my irises, I left on the ball of dirt surrounding the root system. My plan is to replant my precious iris the day I move in. I know it's December and it really isn't the best idea...but I really do not have a choice. Out of my entire garden, I am only taking my iris and truly couldn't part with them.

The temp in NJ has been between 45 and 30...sometimes into the 20s at night. Do you think if I mulch them well just for the winter they will survive??
