Hello all,

I am looking for Asclepias seeds...

I have the following:

asperula

curassavica

incarnata

purpurascens

speciosa

syriaca

tuberosa

Can anyone help me out with other kinds??

I believe the one you're referring to is Asclepias curassavica (Bloodflower)... I already have that, though. I am looking for others other than those I listed... there are about 70 different kinds, nationwide.

Perhaps a closer picture would help. In the meantime, if you pull off or cut a leaf, a milkweed should ooze a milky sap.

Have Orange Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) Seeds 4 Trade

I have quite a few packs of freshly collected (Sept 2007) and cleaned Asclepias tuberosa seed for trade. These seeds are very easy to grow and drought resistant once established. They are a host plant for Monarch butterflies and beautiful to look at. This plant grows a large tap root and should probably be planted in its permanent location or in a deep container and transplanted before it gets very big. I would like to trade for other hardy Asclepias species (see my exchange list, linked below) or easy to grow tree, shrub, or perennial seed. I'm also interested in milkweed seeds .I have none to trade but I have other seeds that may interest you - I mostly focus on natives of eastern north america. I'm interested in your native milkweeds. Where are you located I'm wondering if you are close to my eco region.

I have a few seeds of Asclepias variegata and recently ordered Asclepias verticillata and exaltata. Would you be interested in a trade - I have most on your list but would like A. asperula, speciosa, and purpurascens. I usually grow plants native to northeast US, and want to grow all the Asclepias species native here, but would be curious to try a few others native to other regions.
