help me out with this near impossible native conundrum

i have been pouring over native gardening reference books but can't find what i am hoping isn't just a pipe dream. perhaps some of you out there might have a unique idea....

i would love to find a native plant for part/full shade (north side of house), medium moist rich soil, at least 4 feet tall but here's the catch - not wide. basically i'm looking for the shade equivalent of maybe a eupatorium or lobelia. tall and skinny but shade tolerant.

near impossible to find but i know something out there must (hopefully) exist!!

i'm open to anything (maybe even a climbing vine?) as long as it is eastern US native.
