i did some research- i believe it may be a bleeding heart- i'm going to see if it blooms. if not, i may just dig it up, it's getting huge and seems like a lot to maintain.

Another vote for Hesperis for #2 #6... Just wanted to say that I love that you even noticed this sweet little thing. I love all the tiny flowers in the grass, when they are there to be found. No idea what it is, tho. #8 Is that blooming now? Is it growing in IN? In a garden or more wild place? I'm not terribly familiar with mums, but don't know of any kind that would be blooming now in Indiana, although it sure looks like a mum. They're known for being late-bloomers. Are the petals kind of stiff? Could it be a Helichrysum, straw flower? The suggestion on your FB album, Skeleton-leaf Goldeneye doesn't seem possible in your location. You might find this interesting whether it's a mum or not, (from wikipedia.) The genus once included a larger number of species, but was split several decades ago into several genera. The naming of the genera has been contentious, but a ruling of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature in 1999 resulted in the defining species of the genus being changed to Chrysanthemum indicum, thereby restoring the economically important florist's chrysanthemum to the genus Chrysanthemum. During the period between the splitting of the genus and the ICBN ruling, these species have customarily been included under the genus name Dendranthema. The other species previously included in the narrow view of the genus Chrysanthemum are now transferred to the genus Glebionis. The other genera separate from Chrysanthemum include Argyranthemum, Leucanthemopsis, Leucanthemum, Rhodanthemum, and Tanacetum.

It looks like mugwort. I have it too. I mowed it all last summer and it's healthy and happy (and spreading) this spring. :-( I looked it up online and there is only one type of weed killer that even touches it. Hand pulling will give you limited success in a lawn because it spreads by rhizomes and any tiny piece of root left over will start a whole new plant (or seven0. I suppose if you pull it repeatedly over time, it might starve the roots. But since it's really all one big connected plant, you need to pull all of it in the area to make much of a dent. If anyone knows a better way to control it, I'm all ears. I hate the stuff. I'll trade it in for garlic mustard and Japanese knotweed any day; at least I know how to manage those two.
