let nature take its course?

21 years ago

I read somewhere that if you leave a part of your lawn alone (i.e. don't mow), eventually there will be native grasses and flowers growing. Can anyone confirm this? I have a perfect site for a meadow, and I would really like to save time and money by not having a manicured lawn on every inch of my property. Also, I would rather not bother preparing a wildflower bed, because I'm not going to have enough time to constantly weed and water it, and I believe in not digging unless it's absolutely necessary.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
