You 2nd picture of the dark green grass is not bermuda. It looks like the pale green, thin stuff is you bermuda lawn. Have you ever measured your actual water output? Do know roughly how many inches of water you are applying per week? The screwdriver test is a good start to sound watering practices. Adding in more info to help you know how water you are applying will help there. If your lawn is mostly bermuda and as pale green in color as it looks, you make simple need to feed it more. Bermuda does well with 1 lb of Nitrogen every 4-6 weeks. Many of use mixtures of organic and/or synthetic to achieve this goal. If you can provide your lawn with 1" of water per week and the feedings in will pop back in shape and fill in a lot of areas quickly. What type of bermuda do you have? When was it sodded/seeded? What is the total size of your lawn?

Hi All! I got a weedopolis going on in my yard. But I do have a plan. I have watched a few vids from 'The Lawn Care Nut' for tips on what to do. I am posting to get advice and to correct my plan of action. Zone 9a - South Louisiana First let's get pics of the grass out of the way. Here is the larger photo. Here is the closeup. If this St. Augustine or Zoysia? Or something else? I bought this weed killer to apply to the whole yard. I also have 2,4 D for follow up treatments. OK. Here is the plan: 1) Spray for weeds 2) Cut grass extremely low, bag clippings 3) Loosen grass that is left with rake 4) Seed - mid March. Water at least 1" per week 5) Milorgranite - Mid April 6) Weed, water and cut, treat for weeds in spots with 2,4 D Is this a good plan? How can it be improved? Thanks in advance!

Thanks lawniac. Well I won't say it's easy by Google. As clean, close up pictures are rare. And I see same picture labeled as different grass at different sites. So not accurate to say the least. For instance I'm trying to identify following two grasses Both I guess same species of different variety. one is short leaves other has long leaves. one is denser than other and little lighter in color. I failed to find any picture on google that is properly labeled with the grass name and positively matches either of these pictures.

About all we can tell from that is it is fine bladed and does not get seed heads even when long. It would help to know where you live, not your zone, so we could eliminate some possibilities.
