serviceberry vs redbud

I am in a quandry and hoping I might get some advise. I am looking at adding a tree that will be about 20 feet tall and airy-don't want too much shade with it. I have narrowed it down to either a serviceberry or a redbud tree. Although my concern with the serviceberry is that I don't know how to prune it into more of a tree-like than shrub-like shape...and I've heard it suckers. However it would be nice to provide some bird food. I'm looking for the tree to soften a fenceline, provide some screening from the neighbors, and not put out too much shade for other plantings. What do you see as the pros and cons of the two? Thanks for any input.
