NH Plant swap

I will be hosting our annual NH spring plant swap and will post it on the exchange section soon. Everyone ( you don't have to be from NH) is invited. I'm trying to decide on a date. Let me know if you would prefer the last Sat. in May or the first one in June .

Mem. Weekend is our Town Plant Sale...unless you have it afternoon instead of morning ;)

Just thought I would direct you to the other thread about a spring swap. It would appear they are planning their swap on the first week in June.

Is the plant swap still on for tomorrow? The weather forecast doesn't look too promising. I attended the swap last June, and really enjoyed it. Here is a list of some of the plants I will be bringing. Please feel free to make suggestions or requests. *Yellow raspberries ("Fall Gold" I think--two crops per year) *hostas (both solid green and variegated--white and green) *Jack-in-the pulpit--I have a lot of these *spirea (pink) I have a lot of these as well *a few pachysandra *lupine (mostly blue/purple) *echinacea (mostly pink, but some white as well) *columbine (white) *artensis? (small green & yellow variegated plant) *mint? (very invasive) *chives? (you can't kill them) *forsythia *a small sedum with a yellow flower *bamboo (green, running, but only if someone wants it) *bleeding heart (tall variety) *siberian irises *strawberries (could be June-bearing, or everbearing) *mums (not sure about color) *large ferns *Soloman seal *Globe thistle *I have a lot of a plant that might be butterfly bush, but it might be a weed as well. Hi Swappers, Boy we all had a wonderful time! And no rain either. Thank you to Annie for hosting and great onion soup. And thank you to everyone who swapped with me or plain out gave me stuff. The food table was groaning with fantastic creations. A couple of Marsha and Sheila's friends requested the recipe for Texas Caviar, so I am posting here. Anyone else want to post their recipe? I wouldn't mind the one for the round eclair -- which caused me to go off my South Beach stringent two weeks.... aarggh! My own fault. I simply could not resist it OR a piece of this amazing chocolate cake with walnuts and some kind of liquor in the batter? Was it amoretto? (sp) Thanks again everyone. I missed seeing Beryl's smiling face... Texas Caviar 1-1/2 ears of corn - cooked 1 med red pepper chopped 1 can of black beans 1/3 c chopped fresh cilantro 2 t. ground cumin 4 T olive oil 1 clove garlic minced 1/2 c cider vinegar Place all ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Refrigerate for an hour or overnight for flavors to meld. Serve with Tostito Scoops.

Hello, this is Annie's daughter Becky. We will be having her annual spring swap on Sunday June 1st, in Goffstown NH. All are welcome. We will be serving coffee and pastries at 0900. Plant swap starts at 1000. Pot Luck luncheon will begin at 1100. We will be making French Onion Soup and baguettes again this year. If you plan to stay for lunch please bring something to share with the group. Please post what you are bringing to the pot luck. What you have to trade and what you are looking for your garden. I messaged Becky the other day, she said Annie is doing well after her hip replacement this past January. Her mind is another issue but I'm told overall she's doing well. We discussed a plant swap and she said that she would like to bring Annie to a swap IF she isn't having a bad day the scheduled day. I hear that some days it's a fight to get her up and dressed. Oh Annie! Deidre and I were talking and she thought it be nice to give Annie with a small gift pertaining to the starting of the great swap group that attended her swap for many years. There will be no money involved for anyone, deidre and I will take care of that. The gift will be from EVERYONE! I emailed Thymetodig {susan} and we decided that I should do the spring swap because she's busy this year. I did the June swap last year and we had a great time. we did miss a lot of the Goffstown group though. I'm thinking June, 10th for the swap date.

Hi Annie,

The first weekend of June is out for me (my son's birthday), and the last weekend of May is Memorial Weekend... usually a very busy one for many. Would you consider the third weekend in May? Saturday the 20th? It would be perfect for me, and a great time to divide and plant too!

Hello Annie,

I vote for the last weekend in May (or even the weekend before that, if it becomes an option). I'll be on vacation the first week of June.

Dear Annie,

I am sure that whatever weekend you choose will be well attended by enthusiastic gardeners. I will do my best to come, but can not commit at this time.

You just name the date. Marsha and I have been looking forward to it since we pulled out of your driveway last fall. Given enough time to arrange our schedule, we wouldn't miss it.

Another possible date for the plant swap would be June 10th. Would that suit more people?

I'm good that day, too.

The only weekend that doesn't work is the Mem day one, BUT...like I said, if we're talking closer to noon, I'm sure I'll be able to make it.

I'm flexible...probably moreso than many...I have no life, so whatever works- majority wins...right?

Right now I'm looking at June 3rd for our plant swap as this would be the most convenient date for me and so far this date seems to suit the majority of people who have contacted me... I could make June 10th a rain date. I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you former swappers as well as welcoming lots of newcomers.
I will post a definite date and other information on the exchange forum sometime during the first week in May.

It's early yet, but I didn't see an official post yet on the exchange forum for our 'pre-trades.'

Will anyone be interested in common orange daylilies? I divided a large section, and have about 40 sitting in a water-bucket at the moment. Will pot them up for the swap if anyone is interested.

Oh cool! I haven't been posting here much in quite a while, but I'd love to come. My husband's being transferred, so we're moving to northern MA/southern NH this summer, and I'm going to have to start a whole new garden. I'll be able to bring iris divisions and mallows at the very least.
