It does look like a caerulea fruit. Unfortunately that's not one of the palatable varieties. The fruit is pretty much tasteless but is a very pretty vine and a good butterfly host plant.

Thanks for the info. That appears to be the fruit. One of the things that puzzle me is that in my searches, I only find reference to a Maylasian plum. An oval fruit that has a faint rose hue when ripe. Same genus name. Incidently, dicot is the family name of this plant, any relation?

It's a scandent, tropical, vining leaf cactus commonly called Barbados Gooseberry or Lemon Vine. Known botanically as Pereskia aculeata (syn. P. pereskia Karst.; Cactus pereskia L.) Get close to the vine and you will see thorns and the aureolas, an identifying characteristic of all cacti. Keep you eyes out this summer for light yellow, rose-like blooms.
