Earth Day plantings.........

It's been a good day to garden (if dressed properly) and it is only now (3:20ish pm) that the rain has pushed me inside for the day here in Monmouth County.

Transplanted calacarpa earlier, to a spot that I prviously had & moved an Exbury: Gallipoli Red (too close to an oak) that the squirrels seem to drop onto from the trunk of the oak. No sooner that it would begin growing would a stem be snapped.

Earth day purchase & plantings (from Rare Find):

Rh. Blue Bird

Rh. Bakeri

Rh. Candense 'True Album'

Rh. Girards Hotshot varigated

Rh. Jap x lutem

Edged many of the beds today. Set out the hummingbird feeders. Plenty of goldfinch at the feeders (they have been in full lemon yellow plumage the past few weeks). Hermit Thrush in the yard yesterday evening. Robins with nesting material.

Going into the garage and to sow tithonia and that should do it for the day. I'm pooooped, though the bottle of Chilean Rojo did help me get through the chores today. ;^ )

Black earth live again......
