best way to remove honeysuckle?

I have been handpulling, but I fear all I do is break it up and encourage more healthy new growth! My other big proplem is the Japanese stilt grass. What is the best way to get rid of it?

It took a while, but I cut mine down and persistently removed any growth as soon after it emerged as possible.

Sweat equity and a sponge attachment for a portable drill. You can’t use anything more abrasive as it will scratch the stone. Mildew is generally from lack of ventilation or issues with the build underneath the stone. Assess the overall build quality and any other issues first.

When it is 'black' like that it indicates the RAW wood has been exposed to the minerals in DIRT or water (I see water stains/intrusion at the base of the wall where she's nailing). The 'dirt' is gone but the MINERALS remained LONG ENOUGH to stain the wood (not the finish...the wood itself) a black colour. This is an indication of wood damage...not finish damage. There is no scrubbing that will remove MINERAL STAINS in wood....you need to sand PAST the black stain (honestly....look stains in hardwood floors...you will come up with THOUSANDS of photos). There is no other way. Notice the black stuff to the right...that's water damage. The water evaporated but the MINERALS in the water remained long enough to stain the wood BELOW the finish. There is no cleaner in the world that will get rid of that other than a floor sander.

From your photos it looks like you have two layers and you are easily able to remove the top layer. If so, remove the top layer, dry as much as you can. Then-assuming you have floors you want to preserve, use heavy plastic drop cloths on the floor and spray (water) the heck out of the next layer. You want to get it soaking wet so that it is easy to take off. It will take a lot of experimentation to determine how much water, how long to let it sit before it comes off easily. Then you will get a system of spraying several strips and then going back and removing the first one. Usually a wide putty knife will do it. You’ll want to wash off all the paste residue at this time while it is still wet so that you don’t have to do it all over again. It will be trial and error with Dif or vinegar or just hot water. A spray pump like you use for outdoor gardening is the best tool here. Experiment with your own situation to determine what will work. Everyone’s walls and type of wallpaper, number layers, age will be different.

Stilt grass is an annual, so killing or pulling it before it goes to seed is the best approach.

Japanese honeysuckle is one that I pull most in the winter, early spring to get the bulk of it (especially after some wet weather). Then if you can, spray BRUSH Be Gone (or other herbicide for woody plants) whatever sprouts back. In the winter/spring, mine is quite visible against the otherwise dormant woodland floor.

But depending on how large of an area you are working it may not be cost effective. They say they can come back from the bits of root left be hind but I have not really seen that.
I think I'll try some spraying this fall. I wanted to avoid that but there are just so many of them.

I hand pull after rain, which seems to be pretty effective at getting the roots, and I also round-up in late fall/early spring when the natives are dormant. It's one of the nasties that I actually feel like I am making headway against!
