No, the latin for Yarrow is Achillea. You can use the USDA plants database to put in a common name and find the latin (or scientific) name.

In this case, "yarrow" is in the common name for a bunch of plants, including a few things that are not yarrow.

Thanks for the compliment and link. I've lived in the
woods for almost 30 years and have come across many
beautiful and interesting natives. I always intend to
look them up, but never do. Now I've found this forum
with all you experts!! This is so much easier than
doing all that hard work myself. :-) Here's another
one for ya. The foliage is grey and velvet-like, almost
like a Tillandsia.
