I know the cost of these plants which is why I thought I would see if anyone would be kind enough to trade. I realize my list isn't the most glamourous which is why I was willing to do multiple trades for 1 plant. Once again I'm sorry if I have offended you. I have these seeds to trade to someone who wants to give them a try. Please do the research into germination and growth. I would like to trade for a various mix of brugmansia seeds or cuttings, dont have to be named varieties. Will gladly pay the difference in shipping for cuttings. Prefer pink/orange shades. Only brugs, not datura seeds please. Am also interested in trading for pink lotus seeds or roots. No white or yellow please. Will gladly pay the difference in shipping for small healthy growing roots with eyes.

They are extremely hard to transplant. I moved five or six(only to a new location on the same property) in Jasper to make way for a home and only one survived. And I was generous with the soil I removed with the plants, but I moved them after they bloomed in spring. I was told by and old woman in Talking Rock to mark them and move them in late fall next time I want to transplant any. She had about 30 in her front yard under some Chestnut Oaks and she feeds them Azalea food after they bloom.

Pink lady slipper likes acid soil, so acidity shouldn't have any affect on the color. The cause is likely genetic. Most orchids have had various forms named, the most common is forma 'alba' for white flowered forms. Such forms are just genetic anomalies occasionally found in orchid populations and aren't usually considered taxonomically significant. The white species I was thinking of is Cypripedium candidum, but most lady's slippers have leaves on the stem. The second part of the name of pink lady's slipper "acaule" means stemless.
