Oh, how lovely. I want to return our backyard to woodland, but need to get rid of the weeds first. Lady Slippers are one of my favorites. Thanks for the pics-great garden and pot!

I would love to have lady's slippers! I tried some tissue cultured ones but they didn't 'take' unfortunately. There were yellow ones in the woods where I grew up. Such precious plants.

What a lovely yard. I love the woods showing in the back and the little clearing with your garden in front. All very nicely done.

So envious of your lady slippers!! They are adorable. In the second picture I see a few other wildflowers, what are those please? It must be an absolute pleasure to walk out into the forested area and see those spring beauties in bloom.

Very nice! You don't see Lady Slippers every day. Is that False Solomon's Seal growing with the Lady Slippers? LOVE that yellow pot at the bottom of your steps. It's so cheerful! Please post later as it grows. I'm also wondering what is that pretty p*lant is across the path from the Blue Eyed Grass? Some kind of daisy?

The Lady Slippers are certainly treasures. It is so nice to be able to share them with family, friends and neighbors. Most of whom have never seen them in person.

CMK- The other wild flowers in the pictures are False Lily-of-the-Valley (Canada Mayflower) (Maianthemum canadense)and Starflower (Trientalis borealis).The False Lily-of-the-Valley literally carpet the forest floor by the thousand. Each tiny white flower turns in to a red berry, which is when I think they are the prettiest.

Pairiemoon2 - Thank you very much. I think False Solomon's Seal has more leaves then these little guys. False Lily of the Valley only have two. But they are very similar.

I will post another picture of that pot latter in the season. I'm so glad you liked it. I thought it made a nice combination.

The plants across from the Blue Eyed Grass are English Daisies. They are a perennial continuous bloomer. They are in bloom when the snow melts in spring and they are in bloom when the snow flies in winter.

I am deadheading like crazy. If anyone is interested in some seed just send me an email.

Lady's slippers are very valuable here in Canada. You are quite lucky to have one come up naturally in your yard.

I just got blue-eye grass and am so pleased to see from your photos on how thick they can grow. I paired them with low growing creeping phlox. I have seen the english daisies and they look awesome. Totally like the way they turned out in your yard.

Thanks Carrie! I thought that was Maianthemum! I bought some last year but so far it hasn't done much. Maybe one day it will look as nice as your patch. Going to have to look up that Trientalis borealis, very cute!

Blue Eyed Grass grows wild around the house and transplant beautifully. In that picture there are five clumps I transplanted last year. I am sure your pairing will look wonderful.
