Non-native tree (Paulownia) that is invasive in the southeast. Those are capsules that contain hundreds of small seeds.

I love my Elderberries. They are edible and you can make wine, jelly, and pies. They supposedly have medicinal properties as well. Birds love the berries! I used to watch a parade of birds frequent my Elderberries until a Robin claimed the back yard as his territory. He hogs the bird bath and the Elderberries. So then I spread the shrubs farther apart thinking the Robin couldn't monopolize them. We shall see because they are still recovering from transplant. I'd say it's Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) which is an out of control weed that plagues most all of Florida in much the same way that the White Mulberry (Morus alba) plagues most of the Eastern US. One way to tell for sure, is if it's fuzzy on the top of the leaf and more rough feeling on the bottom of the leaf it's Paper Mulberry. White Mulberry will be mostly smooth feeling on the top and rough feeling on the bottom of the leaf.

No, good thought though. Only Sals (EL) and one unknown have any figs left. This might be helpfull if anyone else gets cought in a monsoon!
