I am in the market for either Etoile Violette or something like it to go w/my New Dawn climber. I saw a Nelly Moser and several Jackmanni at our local Agway but they were in the quart size milk carton like container and the price was $12.99. I was told Jackmanni might not be big enough to compliment my New Dawn. Anyone know of a nursery in Fairfield/Newtown CT area that has a nice selection of clematis? Also what is the going price for a nice clem in CT? I would love to take a ride to White Flower Farm but that would have to wait until after Easter. suebot sbot@ur.com

I highly recommend Romence Gardens in Portage. And yes, they have more hostas available than those that are on their web-site. They up-size their hostas in bigger pots as they grow and are too busy to divide them so you'll pay the same price for the variety no matter how many eyes it has. The other place I would recommend is K Gardens in Byron Center, just southwest of Grand Rapids. They have about 800 varieties of hostas. I have bought many hostas from them that had over 20 eyes. I stop by Romence Gardens in Grand Rapids when I need a hosta fix on a Sunday. They are the only nursery in our area that's open on Sundays. When you visit Chris at Hallsons, let him pick out a hosta for you! He's picked out several for me that I never would have on my own! Chris also has hostas in his nursery that aren't on his web-site. I haven't been to Rob's Lakeside Acres yet, but have an order in that we are going to pick up instead of having him ship to us. I'm looking forward to meeting Rob! If you want to travel all the way north into Michigan, there is Cedar Hedge Gardens in Interlochen. I haven't been there yet, but they have over 800 varieties plus 4 acres of display gardens. Gesila

Steve, Nice choice with Lakeside Cha Cha. And it is huge! I have LCC growing in about four hours of afternoon sun and it always looks great! It has been a while since I have visited Seawrights. I guess I am due for a road trip. Perhaps after the Hosta Convention when the daylilies are in bloom.

All of them! This was my first garden, well, more than a couple of plants here and there, so I'm looking forward to everything!! :) I know it was the first year last year but Sun Power and Halycon both grew quite a bit over the summer so I'm really hoping for good things from them. Abiqua Drinking Gourd grew quite well too, though so hopefully it does good. Sum and Substance looked the same when it went out for the winter as it did when I planted it so I don't know about that one.
