Moving to NC Hosta instructions

We are planning on moving sometime in Feb or March from UT to NC. I have several hostas that I'd like take with me. We would be traveling by road with minimal stops. I have a mighty mouse and mouse ears that are brand new and so they are still small. I also have a Patriot, Regal splendor and some others. My question is; what would be the best way to move these? I was planning on dividing them and only taking a small piece and leaving the rest with the house. Except for the Mighty Mouse and Mouse Ears in which case I would just be taking the whole plant with me.

A-I pot them up and bury them in the ground so that I can just pluck them out when we are ready to go. If so, how will being in a trailer affect them and when should I plant them once I get there?

B-Pot them up and bring them inside until we move. Will they survive this or do they need the cold period?

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
