I am! Better looking than any roses I've ever received from heirloom, no diss intended, the root system and all looked great! High country's roses look symilar( SP?) in comparison. I only have a small green house, and the ones that would fit in it I put in their lol. I plan on buying a bigger one because I don't think I will be able to plant them until next spring , and just pot them up into bigger pots when they need it. Right now they are in one gal. and enjoying the rain since we got some today! then I will put the smaller ones back in the greenhouse until wed, and get a bigger greenhouse for them all! My husband thinks I'm crazy for my love of roses, but I don't care! he has his passions and I have mine!

Yeah, don't put mulch in the hole. After planting, mulch should go on top of the soil around the plant but not right up against it. Its job is to keep the soil from drying out or changing temperature too quickly. I used some good potting soil when I planted mine, and they went straight in the ground (no pre-soak) but with plenty of watering. Another tip that I read in a daylily book but I don't see much in planting instructions: Make sure that the soil around the plant is mounded up higher than the surrounding area, because it will probably settle some over time, and you don't want your plant to be sitting in a pit. I'm sure there are lots of other good tips out there. From what I've read, various people have different ideas about planting and fertilizing new daylilies, but as long as you don't do anything crazy, they should do fine. Nate

Linda is a great source of some uncommon roses. I've ordered from her for several years, both from her website and from eBay. WONDERFUL lady to deal with. Now she's custom rooting some of Kim Rupert's roses I begged (pestered, cajoled...) Kim to send her. I can't wait until next Spring...welllllll, I guess I DO have to wait, lol. It never surprises me when I hear someone is happy with Long Ago Roses. John

Dave, receiving new plants in the post is always exciting! Having not seen the plants you are purchasing, there's usually an element of surprise too! (You hope for the pleasant variety!) Looks like you have some nice root systems that will pay dividends in the coming months. I only have one of those - Lakeside Ripples (photo taken today). This will be its third year, but you seem to have secured one that's already off to a good start! Be sure to post the progress of Lemon Squash - I love the look of all those ripply ones developed by Jeroen Linneman! It's available in the States this year, but as yet, it hasn't crossed the border to any retailers further north! Anyhow, enjoy watching your haul grow over the coming weeks and months. BC
