We did bottle it up. What are the laws on selling honey? I'm in California where should I go? After doing some reading I found out that darker honey sells for less. The bees eat from the lemon blossoms. Is that why its deep amber? The flavor is great, I have enough for presents right now and will have enough to sell very soon. HI, I have three BJ pines. Bought them at Lowe's 6 years ago. They were about 2 feet tall. They are now well over 20 feet tall, even bent over as they are. I just love their bent, distorted limbs, created by the weather. All forms of weather affect their growth and appearance and that is what they are loved for - their distorted trunks and limbs. Here in my part of Oklahoma, we get below zero temps day and night in winter that can last for a week or more, with blasting northern winds. The cold doesn't seem to bother them, nor the winter precips, but heavy accumulations of snow and ice doubles them over, often all the way to the ground. A few small branches snap off, but the main trunks are flexible enough that they don't break. After the snow and ice melts, they never stand completely straight again. They also bend with the prevailing winds that blow into the state year round - southwesterly in the summer and northwesterly in winter. The only thing that I have seen that affects them is drought. We had a severe drought for two years straight and in spite of my watering them, most of their needles turned brown. I thought I would lose them, but they recovered once the drought ended. Have not had any pests or disease - knock on wood. Hope this helps you in some way. ~ sweetannie4u

Thats the best part about plumeria growing. During the winter you can just store them in any random place as long as it stays above freezing and in march or early april you can just put it by a south facing window and let them grow before being taken outside in the summer. My plumeria is about 3 feet tall and flowering for the 1st time now, but usually they flower around 2 to 2 1/2 feet tall. It sounds like you might be lucky enough to get some blooms next spring or maybe mid summer or next year, maybe even this year if you have a dedicated plant. I cant wait until my desert rose blooms, but it looks like im going to have to wait until next year becuase its still a seedling (with 7-9 growing tips most less than an inch tall), but it does have a swollen trunk which is a good start. I wish that stores by me sold plants as nice as a desert rose, but they would probably be gone in a day if they were blooming. Also... I can only imagine what you can grow if you had zone 7 temperatures. You would probably have date palms and tropical hibiscus surviving outside in the ground!! Your yard is very nice, and defiantely not your typical zone 4. Very tropical. Great job and good luck.
