lillies in DE but moving to S.FL

Wondering if anyone could help me out. We are moving to South Florida in March 2006, and I grow some awesome Gold Banded, Dizzy and Stargazer lillies. I have had these for about 3 yrs in my garden and this year I have had tons of lillies. I would really like to see if I could grow the bulbs in pots down in S. Florida (keeping them in the refrig for a few months and repotting every year). My question is: do you think that I could dig up some of my lilly bulbs and take them with me. If so, at what time of this Fall should I dig them up? Should I wait till our first freeze in DE, so that they are completely resting, or should I do it now? I have tagged the plant stems I would like to take, but I am not sure if this will really work. Any suggestions, or should I just experiment once I get down there with new bulbs? Thanks! Nick
