Guacamole has differing variegation based on the amount of sunlight it receives.

One of my favorites and has been a very good grower for me. Mine gets a few hours of morning sun and then dappled shade for the rest of the day.

mbug your new 'Gaucamole' is beautiful and the mature ones posted here are divine. Mine showed very little variegation until I exposed it to more light.

One of my favorites in my garden and it grows like a weed.

My only frustration is that I divided it early spring 2 years ago and ever since then it has been throwing all green eyes. Those eyes are called Fried Green Tomatoes so I've got pieces of those tucked away places.

My plant is in a little more shade than the pictures above and the variegation is more subtle. I'll try and get a picture tomorrow.

I have two, both in their first year. (As I type this I get the feeling of deja vu of already having posted my guacs. Apologies if I have--my collection is still small, young, and growing, in every sense!)

One is planted in a shadier location and is green and blue (the blue doesn't show up too well in the pics):

The one planted in a sunnier location was quite gold earlier in the spring:

When it got started getting scorched we planted a Japanese maple nearby to give it some shade. Now you can see the variegation better:

It bloomed this past week and the flowers smell divine:

And, another one, which was here last fall but I did not see it before it went dormant. I'm sort of specializing in the fragrant ones, and the Guacamole got here with the Fried Bananas and the Fried Green Tomatos....etc etc.

Interesting that yours began blooming last week or so, must be the one in a lot of sun? Well, mine is only in partial or broken sun/shade. Cannot wait for the fragrance to come.

It is such a good plant, so there are several here.

To properly complete this thread, we should include pics of Hosta 'Avacado' and 'Holy Mole', at least, teehee!

I don't know what happened with my photo so I am trying again.

A bit beaten up by late freezes but she is doing fine.

moccasinlanding, yes, it's the one which got a lot of sun which bloomed. The one in shade hasn't even sent up scapes. I should add that the slugs LOVE Guacamole. I hunt them at night with a flashlight and a spray bottle of ammonia solution, and also dump coffee grounds around them.

This is one of my 'Guacamole's, it sees full sun until around 2 PM. This far north it is only now starting to develop scapes, it'll be August before I'll smell the weet scent of those flowers.

This is another one with pretty much the same sun exposure.

Also one of my favorites. This is mine's first really good year. It's about 3 years old. Smells wonderful. I think the colors are improving as it gets older, too

Soooo, no one took me up on it, so I feel obligated to add to this thread. Since there are already several fantastic pics of Guac,

Stained Glass

Oh dear, now we have Stained Glass, that means Cathedral Windows must come to the party.

I was making sure my photo was properly identified before I posted my Avocado and Holy Mole, because there is much similarity. And, I got a Cathedral Windows YESTERDAY, in fact, from Contrary Mary, along with her last Hypoleuca....finally SUCCESS in seeking the great whiteback hosta!!! But I digress. Sorry.

Wow, somehow I didn't realize that my stained glass was going to grow up to look like Guacamole. I love Guacamole, I just don't need another one.
