Hi, we live in B.C. Canada and have been using S n G since the eighties and swear by it. Although no retailor will ship to Canada, at a reasonable price anymore of late. When we first used it on eight rows of potatoes we had planted three weeks earlier, we sprayed only three rows. After three weeks later those three rows were twice as tall as the other five rows. At harvest time the SnG treated rows had twice as big a harvest as the others.. In our greenhouse the tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers were so much better tasting than ever before. Back then only one place in Texas sold it. Even Saudi Arabia was buying it for their gardens. There are many more stories of friends that I introduced it to and they swore by it.. Al D.... Carolyn, the one publication I have in front of me is the "2006 Foliar Fungicide Spray Guide for Tomatoes in North Carolina". Under the heading "Effective Chemicals" Kelly Ivors, Extension Plant Pathologist writes: "There is no SINGLE product that is effective against all important foliar tomato deseases. For example, the strobilurins give excellent control, mancozeb gives good control and chlorothalonil gives only fair control of early blight; however chlorothalonil is presently the best product for late blight control..........Therefore, it is necessary to use a combination of different products in a spray program to optimize management of the different tomato diseases that might occur." I think you'll find that recommendations in the Northeast will follow this statement since I've heard it repeated often at the Mid-Atlantic Vegetable Conference this year. Everybody is talking about FRAC codes on spray labels and how to use those codes to your advantage. I will never anymore discuss what I use on this site. I once mentioned use of Malathion for beetle control and you would have thought from the responses that I was poisoning the world.

I think Carolyn was interested in something called Serenade. I wonder if she got any feedback on that. Some say it works great without the white residue. ***** Me Carolyn? No, I'm not interested in Serenade or Daconil or Actinovate or Spinosid or Messenger or whatever, b'c since I moved to this new location 9 years ago I'm in a very rural area and haven't had serious problems with foliage diseases. I did most of tomato growing one hour south near Albany and there I had to use something b'c of the high prevalence of foliage infections, and after researching I decided on Daconil and it worked very well. It's strictly an anti-fungal so one needs to ID if the foliage infection is bacterial or fungal so one doesn't expect miracles treating a bacterial foliage infection with Daconil. Here where I ( meaning Freda who does all my gardening for me since I have to use a walker after a fall in 2004 when I severed all 4 quads in my right leg) now live I use nothing. Carolyn
