Oriental Lilies

Over the winter and spring I successfully grew oriental lilies from seed in a two step germination process that I discovered on the internet. They are now two inches in height and are in clay pots. My question is, how and where should I place them over the winter when the first frost arrives and they start to turn brown?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I sent Lily Garden an email on Monday to place an order and haven't heard anything back from them. Is that normal? I expected a confirmation and total the same day.

Leave it. It may or may not produce any growth this season but the bulb will fair far better in the ground than out, even for a short period of time.

Since the beetles eat the leaves, it isn’t able to store much energy. Start removing the beetle larvae and adults on a frequent basis and it may get more vigorous over the next year or two. Any replacement you make will do the same slide into stuntedness. I hold. Bucket of soapy water under and knock the beetles and larvae in.

2 months ago, I sowed seeds from my oriental lily. I checked on them yesterday and had lots of germination! However, I was under the impression that Lily seeds need a warm period followed by cold period in order to germinate. I never started the cold period!! Has anybody else sowed oriental lily? What did you do?
