Ugh..new to gardening and transplant question

Hi everyone-I've been lurking on this sight for a while and have learned a wealth of information about my plants! I have a question about transplanting iris. About two and a half weeks ago, I dug up some iris and rearranged them in-gave them some more room, divided a few, etc. Unfortunately, we have had some water in our basement and where I've planted them is where we are going to need to add about 6 inches of dirt or so to create a slope away from the house to try to prevent the water in the basement. Is it all right to dig them up a SECOND time in the same season? I don't want to lose these-they were from my grandmother's garden, but, I want to get the water problem fixed in the basement as well. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!!
